To Whom It May
Concern |
|
As
you may be aware, the last Census findings show Hispanics are
one of the fastest growing populations in the United States. The
St. Louis Metropolitan Area is no different. In fact, the number
of Hispanics in the region continues to grow at a significant
pace. It has been stated that we, Hispanics, are merely a
“sleeping giant” on the verge of waking up. However, this
so-called “giant” is not necessarily waking from a state of
lethargy, nor is it now visible to the rest simply because of
its size. In effect, the Hispanic “giant” has opened its eyes
and brings forth a legacy of values, customs, and traditions. It
plays a role in cultural, social, and artistic matters, and
makes its presence felt extensively in politics, our national
economy, society, and sports. |
|
In
light of this, we believe that the Hispanic community of St.
Louis deserves a written publication that will assist in
strengthening its efforts and dreams. |
| |
|
Our
Goal |
|
We
strongly believe that communication is fundamental to the
success and evolution of society. In the same spirit, Red
Latina (“Latin Network”) is a newspaper designed
specifically to serve the Hispanic community of St. Louis,
contributing to its economic, political, and social development
and integration. |
| |
|
Main Objectives
of RED LATINA |
To establish contact and develop a network
including various individuals, groups, businesses,
organizations, and institutions of Hispanic origin (and
non-Hispanic but also serving the Hispanic community) within
the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
To serve as a means of expression and
manifestation to the community, allowing for the free exchange
of ideas.
To inform the public of all important Hispanic
events at the local level, as well as those of international
scope which involve the Hispanic community.
To nurture the education of the community as a
whole by creating an awareness of the values, traditions, and
cultures of the various Hispanic nations.
To support the development and growth of all
Hispanic businesses through the advertisement of these
establishments and their employment opportunities.
In advance, we wish to express our gratitude
for your interest in RED LATINA. We take this
opportunity to send our kindest regards.
Thank you for your interest in Red Latina
