Cientos de vehículos Porsche en Rusia quedaron inmovilizados debido a una falla en su sistema de seguridad satelital de fábrica, conocido como Vehicle Tracking System (VTS). Hundreds of Porsche vehicles in Russia were immobilized due to a failure in the brand’s factory-installed satellite security system, known as the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS). The loss of connectivity triggered engine shutdowns and fuel supply locks, affecting all models and causing a surge in service requests since late November. Some owners managed to reactivate their vehicles by rebooting or manually disabling the system.

Comentario: Hoy en día, los autos nuevos vienen cargados de servicios, pero casi todo funciona bajo suscripción: una para esto, otra para aquello. Entiendo que el modelo de suscripciones se ha vuelto parte de todo, aunque en algunos casos surgió por necesidad cuando no se permitían otras opciones. Sin embargo, estas suscripciones son, en teoría, opcionales, y cuando el dinero es limitado hay que priorizar cuáles realmente valen la pena cada mes.

Commentary:Today, new cars come loaded with services, but almost everything operates under subscriptions—one for this, another for that. I understand that the subscription model has become part of everything, and in some cases it emerged out of necessity when no other options were allowed. Still, these subscriptions are theoretically optional, and when money is tight, priorities must be set regarding which ones are truly worth paying for each month.

Personalmente, no me interesa pagar una suscripción satelital para mi auto. Prefiero los vehículos más antiguos, que no dependen de sistemas digitales para funcionar. Aun así, es evidente que este tipo de autos tradicionales podrían desaparecer con el tiempo. Personally, I have no interest in paying for a satellite subscription for my car. I prefer older vehicles that do not depend on digital systems to function.
