Admito que no soy fan de dicho estilo, pues no es el tipo de música que suelo consumir. Sin embargo, cuando el artista puertorriqueño Bad Bunny subió al escenario del Súper Tazón y ofreció un espectáculo prácticamente entero en español, lo que vimos no fue solo un concierto: fue un acto de amor y de pertenencia.

I admit I'm not a fan of that style, as it's not the kind of music I usually listen to. However, when Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny took the Super Bowl stage and performed almost entirely in Spanish, what we witnessed wasn't just a concert: it was an act of love and belonging.

Aunque ya grandes artistas hispanas como Gloria Estefan, JLo y Shakira habían hecho lo propio en su momento, por primera vez en la historia de este evento global, un músico interpretó su repertorio completamente en nuestra lengua, abrazando con orgullo raíces, ritmos y una identidad que millones llevamos en la sangre.

Although major Hispanic artists like Gloria Estefan, JLo, and Shakira had already done so, for the first time in the history of this global event, a musician performed his entire repertoire in our language, proudly embracing roots, rhythms, and an identity that millions of us carry in our blood.

El mundo entero lo vio bailar, cantar y celebrar lo que somos: una mezcla de historias, de resiliencia, de sabor, de alegría y de memoria. No fue simplemente música: fue la celebración de una cultura que nunca se ha escondido, aunque muchas veces ha sido ignorada o subestimada.

The whole world watched him dance, sing, and celebrate who we are: a blend of stories, resilience, flavor, joy, and memory. It wasn't simply music: it was the celebration of a culture that has never hidden itself, even though it has often been ignored or underestimated.

Ese acto artístico es también una reivindicación de quienes han migrado, de quienes un día cruzaron fronteras en busca de oportunidades, de quienes han aprendido a trabajar duro y contribuir con sus manos y su corazón allá donde han llegado, y de la historia reciente de Puerto Rico.

This artistic act is also a tribute to those who have migrated, to those who one day crossed borders in search of opportunities, to those who have learned to work hard and contribute with their hands and their hearts wherever they have arrived, and to the recent history of Puerto Rico.

La música de Bad Bunny no solo representa a quienes lo siguen por sus ritmos y letras, sino también a las generaciones de inmigrantes que han enriquecido con su presencia la cultura de muchos países. La música en español en uno de los escenarios más masivos del planeta es una forma de decir: aquí estamos, y nuestra voz también cuenta.

Bad Bunny's music not only represents those who follow him for his rhythms and lyrics, but also the generations of immigrants who have enriched the culture of many countries with their presence. Music in Spanish on one of the most massive stages on the planet is a way of saying: we are here, and our voice matters too.

El idioma —tan rico y vibrante— no es un obstáculo; es un puente. Un puente que convoca a la comunidad, que une memorias, que celebra la diversidad que habita en cada corazón latino. Y en esos minutos de espectáculo vimos más que luces y ritmos: vimos dignidad, raíces y esa fuerza vital que brota de quienes han enfrentado desafíos con creatividad y coraje. Los inmigrantes no solo aportan trabajo, energía y talento: aportan visión, sentido de comunidad y cultura, por lo que más allá de modas o críticas efímeras, lo que quedará en la memoria es simple y enorme: la música puede unir, y cuando se expresa desde la autenticidad de quien ama su historia.

The language—so rich and vibrant—is not an obstacle; it is a bridge. A bridge that brings the community together, that unites memories, that celebrates the diversity that resides in every Latino heart. And in those minutes of the show, we saw more than lights and rhythms: we saw dignity, roots, and that vital force that springs from those who have faced challenges with creativity and courage. Immigrants bring more than just work, energy, and talent: they bring vision, a sense of community, and culture. So, beyond fleeting trends or criticisms, what will remain in our memories is simple yet profound: music can unite, especially when it's expressed with the authenticity of someone who loves their history.
