Juan Pablo Dos Santos, the last to cross the finish line of the New York Marathon; the first to prove that nothing is impossible
El venezolano Juan Pablo Dos Santos, de 26 años, corrió y completó el Maratón de Nueva York con prótesis en ambas piernas, convirtiéndose en el último corredor en cruzar la meta tras 15 horas, 21 minutos y 23 segundos de carrera. Aunque fue el último en llegar, su historia quedará entre las más grandes de la edición 2025: la del hombre que corrió con propósito, con fe y con un país entero en el corazón.
Venezuelan Juan Pablo Dos Santos, 26, ran and completed the New York Marathon with prosthetic legs in both legs, becoming the last runner to cross the finish line after 15 hours, 21 minutes and 23 seconds of running. Although he was the last to arrive, his story will remain among the greatest of the 2025 edition: that of the man who ran with purpose, with faith and with an entire country in his heart.
Su paso por los 42 kilómetros de las calles de Nueva York no fue una competencia contra el tiempo, sino contra los límites. Durante la madrugada, cuando ya la ciudad dormía, Juan Pablo seguía avanzando. Paso a paso. Kilómetro a kilómetro. Dolor tras dolor. Y cuando por fin vio la meta, exclamó entre lágrimas: “¡Gracias, somos imparables!”
His passage through the 42 kilometers of the streets of New York was not a competition against time, but against the limits. During the early morning, when the city was already asleep, Juan Pablo continued to advance. Step by step. Kilometer by kilometer. Pain after pain. And when he finally saw the finish line, he exclaimed through tears: "Thank you, we are unstoppable!"

Antes de eso había sido futbolista, y ya sabía lo que era empezar de nuevo. La vida le puso otra prueba, y él decidió hacerse una nueva pregunta: “No por qué a mí, sino para qué me pasó esto.”
Six years ago, a car accident took her legs. But instead of giving up, John Paul chose to turn his pain into purpose. Desde entonces, ha dedicado su vida a inspirar a otros a través de la creación digital, las conferencias y el movimiento que él mismo bautizó como “Imparables”, un mensaje que se ha convertido en bandera de superación colectiva. Imparables no es solo un lema: es un recordatorio de que no hay sueños demasiado grandes ni circunstancias demasiado duras para quien decide levantarse y seguir.

Juan Pablo corrió por todos los que alguna vez dudaron de su fuerza. Por los que luchan desde el silencio. Por los que están lejos de casa pero siguen llevando a Venezuela en el alma. Su historia como atleta amputado comenzó en Caracas, cuando completó la Media Maratón CAF 2025 en 5 horas, 19 minutos y 41 segundos. Luego, en Madrid, corrió su segunda media maratón en 5 horas, 51 minutos y 2 segundos. Cada paso fue un símbolo, cada meta un mensaje: “Lo imposible solo existe en la mente.”
His story as an amputee athlete began in Caracas, when he completed the CAF 2025 Half Marathon in 5 hours, 19 minutes and 41 seconds. Then, in Madrid, he ran his second half marathon in 5 hours, 51 minutes and 2 seconds. Each step was a symbol, each goal a message: "The impossible exists only in the mind."
El Maratón de Nueva York fue el siguiente capítulo de esa historia. Esta vez, los 42 kilómetros no solo fueron una prueba física, sino una manifestación de fe, constancia y humanidad.
The New York City Marathon was the next chapter in that story. This time, the 42 kilometers were not only a physical test, but a manifestation of faith, perseverance and humanity.
