Albert Pujols y Yadier Molina fueron incluidos oficialmente en el Salón de la Fama de los St. Louis Cardinals durante una ceremonia celebrada el sábado 12 de septiembre en Busch Stadium. Junto a ellos también fue homenajeado Bill Sherdel, integrante del equipo que ganó la Serie Mundial de 1926, el primer campeonato de los Cardinals.

championship, was also honored.

La ceremonia fue especial por reunir a tres generaciones de la historia de la organización. Por primera vez en las 12 ceremonias de inducción, el evento se realizó en Busch Stadium, debido a la popularidad de Pujols y Molina, y reunió a más de 40,000 aficionados. Ambos fueron elegidos por los aficionados en su primer año de elegibilidad, mientras que Sherdel fue seleccionado por el Red Ribbon Committee del equipo.

The ceremony was special for bringing together three generations of the organization's history. For the first time in the 12 induction ceremonies, the event was held at Busch Stadium, due to the popularity of Pujols and Molina, and brought together more than 40,000 fans. Both were chosen by the fans in their first year of eligibility, while Sherdel was selected by the team's Red Ribbon Committee.

Molina ofreció un discurso de aproximadamente 30 minutos, durante el cual agradeció a su familia, a Puerto Rico y a numerosas personas que marcaron su carrera. Una parte importante de sus palabras fue en español, con traducción para el público. También recordó a su padre Benjamin, a sus hermanos Bengie y Jose, a Dave Ricketts, Jose Oquendo, Tony La Russa, Dave Duncan y Adam Wainwright, entre otros. Pujols también habló de su familia y de las personas que influyeron en su trayectoria.

Molina gave a speech of approximately 30 minutes, during which he thanked his family, Puerto Rico and numerous people who marked his career. An important part of his words was

in Spanish, with translation for the audience. He also remembered his father Benjamin, his brothers Bengie and Jose, Dave Ricketts, Jose Oquendo, Tony La Russa, Dave Duncan and Adam Wainwright, among others. Pujols also spoke about his family and the people who influenced his career.

Sherdel fue representado por su nieto John Sherdel, quien llevó durante la ceremonia el anillo de la Serie Mundial de 1926 perteneciente al legendario lanzador zurdo. Bill Sherdel ganó 153 partidos con los Cardinals, la mayor cantidad entre los lanzadores zurdos de la franquicia, y fue parte del equipo que conquistó el primer campeonato de Serie Mundial del club. La ceremonia conectó así la historia de los Cardinals desde 1926 con dos de sus figuras más reconocidas de las últimas décadas, Pujols y Molina. 

Sherdel was represented by his grandson John Sherdel, who wore the 1926 World Series ring belonging to the legendary left-handed pitcher during the ceremony. Bill Sherdel won 153 games with the Cardinals, the most among left-handed pitchers in the franchise, and was part of the team that won the club's first World Series championship. The ceremony thus connected the history of the Cardinals since 1926 with two of its most recognizable figures of recent decades, Pujols and Molina.
