Hubo una época en la que mi diccionario Collins de francés era una pieza clave en mi vida como estudiante. Era una edición antigua, de finales de los años 80, con casi mil páginas, que había pasado de mis hermanos a mis manos. Incluso lo llevé conmigo a París a comienzos de los 2000, aunque ocupaba gran parte de mi maleta.

There was a time when my Collins French dictionary was a central part of my student life. It was an old edition from the late 1980s, nearly a thousand pages long, passed down from my siblings. I even took it with me to Paris in the early 2000s, despite it taking up a large part of my suitcase.

Años después, fue difícil despedirme de él. Vivía en un espacio pequeño con dos bebés y tuve que regalarlo, aunque representaba una etapa importante de mi vida.

Years later, it was hard to let it go. I was living in a small space with two babies and had to give it away, even though it represented an important chapter of my life.

El libro ya acumulaba polvo desde que terminé la universidad, pero también guardaba recuerdos de cuando realmente me comprometí a aprender idiomas.
