No hay mejor desafío que trabajar por la concordia en un mundo cruel y competitivo, que todo lo confunde y lo tensiona, para infundirlo de abecedarios agresivos, que nos llevan a un estado salvaje, impidiéndonos vivir bien y que sean buenos los tiempos. En efecto, todo parte de nosotros, ya que el orbe es lo que somos cada cual consigo mismo y con los demás. Por ello, aunque vivimos momentos complicados, jamás cedamos a la injusticia; tratemos de coordinar acciones, haciéndolo corazón a corazón. Es cierto que, en el contexto bajo el que nos movemos, los precios elevados continúan siendo un desafío global, también cuando se alarga la desinflación, lo que debe hacernos escuchar la voz de los débiles que, aún hoy, carecen de sintonía en este mundo de supremos egoísmos terrícolas.

There is no better challenge than working for harmony in a cruel and competitive world that confuses and strains everything, infusing it with aggressive alphabets that drive us toward a savage state, preventing us from living well and from enjoying good times. Indeed, everything begins with ourselves, since the world is what each of us is with ourselves and with others. Therefore, although we are living through difficult moments, let us never yield to injustice; let us try to coordinate actions, doing so heart to heart. It is true that, in the context in which we operate, high prices continue to be a global challenge, even as disinflation drags on, which should make us listen to the voices of the weak who, even today, lack resonance in this world of supreme earthly egoisms.

Sin duda, hay que pasar página para reconstruir la confianza entre análogos, fortalecer la previsibilidad y renovar el compromiso global, con un sistema multilateral de comercio abierto, cimentado en normas, que nos frenen la avaricia. Estamos aquí para servirnos con honestidad unos de otros, no para apoderarnos de nadie, ampliando las desigualdades estructurales existentes. Tanto es así, que las perspectivas por regiones indican discordancia dentro de la expansión esperada, lo que debe hacernos repensar otro tipo de actuaciones, en coherencia con nuestra dignidad humana. Únicamente un desarrollo equilibrado, encaminado hacia el bien común, será auténtico y contribuirá, incluso a largo plazo, a la estabilidad.

Undoubtedly, we must turn the page to rebuild trust among peers, strengthen predictability, and renew global commitment through an open, rules-based multilateral trading system that restrains greed. We are here to serve one another honestly, not to take possession of anyone by widening existing structural inequalities. So much so that regional outlooks indicate discord within the expected expansion, which should prompt us to rethink other courses of action, consistent with our human dignity. Only balanced development, oriented toward the common good, will be authentic and will contribute—even in the long term—to stability.

El tiempo es un horizonte de ceremonias que siempre nos advierte y nos da lecciones, poniéndonos en el lugar que nos merecemos. Avanzamos, pero también retrocedemos, nuestro error es endiosarnos y no escucharnos mutuamente. La verdad no la ha conseguido nadie todavía. Tampoco una voz fuerte, puede competir con una voz clara. Al fin, lo trascendente no es el nivel competitivo en ninguna actividad, sino el espíritu de gratuidad en el sentido noble de este término, que es lo que nos acrecienta el compartir, avivando la cultura del encuentro y la fraternidad. Personalmente, reconozco que me animo a mí mismo, a practicar este estilo de manera consciente, oponiéndome a toda forma de violencia y opresión.

Time is a horizon of ceremonies that always warns us and teaches us lessons, placing us where we deserve to be. We move forward, but we also move backward; our mistake is to deify ourselves and not listen to one another. No one has yet attained the truth. Nor can a loud voice compete with a clear one. Ultimately, what matters is not the level of competitiveness in any activity, but the spirit of gratuitousness in the noble sense of the term, which enlarges us through sharing, enlivening a culture of encounter and fraternity. Personally, I acknowledge that I encourage myself to practice this style consciously, opposing every form of violence and oppression.

Resulta sorprendente que la humanidad esté globalizada, pero sin hermanarse, que todavía no sepa vivir en concordia, o que vocablos tan necios como competitividad, a pesar de que suele generar conflictividad, sea la palabra que nos tutele, en lugar de otras como: aprender a reprenderse para poder convivir. Indudablemente, la convivencia es un término que nos reduciría el costo existencial, ya que comprimiría las múltiples crisis mundiales que nos asolan, conduciéndonos a un largo periodo de bajo crecimiento económico. Ciertamente la inflación baja, pero la inversión es moderada y la incertidumbre persiste, lo que debe ayudarnos a que surja un creciente consenso sobre la necesidad de armonizar las políticas económicas con las políticas benéficas.

It is surprising that humanity is globalized yet not fraternal, that it still does not know how to live in harmony, or that words as foolish as competitiveness—despite often generating conflict—are the ones that guide us, instead of others such as learning to restrain ourselves in order to coexist. Undoubtedly, coexistence is a term that would reduce our existential cost, as it would compress the multiple global crises that beset us, leading us into a prolonged period of low economic growth. Certainly, inflation is low, but investment is moderate and uncertainty persists, which should help foster a growing consensus on the need to harmonize economic policies with benevolent policies.

Una sociedad como la actual, que no suele estar fondeada en sólidos valores éticos, es un consorcio sin futuro; puesto que, carece de dirección estética y de cauce generoso, por mucho que se hable de desarrollo social. No hay elemento más tétrico, que dejarse inundar por el calvario de la deshumanización y de la inhumanidad manifiesta, lapidándonos el alma de corrupción e impunidad. El esfuerzo en pos de un verdadero avance comunitario, requiere fortalecer los valores democráticos, el respeto universal de los derechos humanos, inherentes a todo ciudadano por el mero hecho de ser persona, y un correcto funcionamiento del Estado de derecho. Combinar el esfuerzo, a través de una corporación más equitativa y atenta a las necesidades de los más débiles, es lo que nos compenetra y reaviva. There is nothing more bleak than allowing oneself to be flooded by the ordeal of dehumanization and manifest inhumanity, stoning our souls with corruption and impunity. The effort toward true communal progress requires strengthening democratic values, universal respect for human rights—intrinsic to every citizen simply by virtue of being a person—and the proper functioning of the rule of law. Combining effort through a more equitable organization attentive to the needs of the most vulnerable is what binds us together and rekindles us.
