OVERLAND, Missouri — What appeared to be a routine emergency call turned into one of the most horrifying cases the Overland community has seen in years. A 1-year-old toddler was found unconscious after allegedly being tied to a chair, gagged, brutally beaten, and slammed onto the floor inside an apartment. Even more disturbing: the entire attack was reportedly caught on video.

According to newly released court documents, investigators described the footage recovered during a search warrant as “extremely disturbing.” Doctors at the children’s hospital where the toddler was rushed confirmed the child suffered a brain bleed.

Authorities identified the alleged attackers as 27-year-old Antonio Belli-Espejo and 26-year-old Irais Martinez Santos, who reportedly lived in the same apartment building as the child on the 10100 block of Chaucer Avenue. Both now face felony child abuse charges.
