Former college golfer Zach Holland resigned his membership at WingHaven Country Club in O’Fallon, Missouri, after admitting that he staged a hole-in-one during a members’ tournament. The incident gained widespread attention online after Holland confessed to the deception and faced criticism and online threats.

The deception was uncovered after club staff reviewed security footage. The video reportedly showed Holland approaching the green before actually playing the hole, confirming that the ball had been placed in the cup ahead of time. Holland later admitted what he had done to club officials.
