Five workers from an aircraft cleaning company were killed Sunday, September 6, when a cargo plane operated by 21 Air for Amazon ran off the runway while landing at Miami International Airport and struck the van they were traveling in. Authorities identified the victims as Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47. Authorities said all five were of Hispanic origin.

The aircraft was a Boeing 767-33A operated by 21 Air on a cargo flight for Amazon. It had departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and overran Runway 30 at Miami International Airport. After leaving the runway, the aircraft traveled approximately 396 meters before striking the workers' van and later another vehicle.
El accidente también dejó cinco personas heridas. Los dos pilotos sobrevivieron y fueron dados de alta del hospital. Entre las otras personas heridas se encontraban trabajadores que viajaban en la camioneta y un conductor de otro vehículo que fue alcanzado por el avión.
The crash also injured five people. Both pilots survived and were released from the hospital. The other injured people included workers who were inside the van and the driver of another vehicle that was struck by the aircraft.

The NTSB examines the final seconds of the flight
The National Transportation Safety Board, known as the NTSB, is leading the investigation. Investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder and analyzed the recorded information.
